TYPEWRITER VS COMPUTER
I got my first manual typewriter when I was thirteen. At seventeen I got my first electric one. I can't tell you how many stories I typed on those two machines as I was growing up. Big stories, too, like 500 pages! Some are so old and faded I can't make out the lettering but I refuse to toss them.
Anyway, I can't recall a time when I didn't want to be a writer when I grew up, and hats off to those who came before the computer. It's so easy making changes and corrections to your manuscript on a computer. But I remember when I was typing on a typewriter if I wanted to add a new sentence or paragraph I had to re-write the whole page. Misspelled a word before correction tape came along? I had to use whiteout and it never looked good. So, thank God for the invention of computers!
