Home Made Chicken and Dumplings

I made a small pot because I didn't think the rest of my family would eat it but guess what, they loved the dumplings! I was left with the chicken soup. lol

Chicken Soup
1 whole chicken
1 end of the celery stalk - leave it all connected
1 chopped up onion
2 cups cut up carrots
1 tablespoon paprika

Boil the chicken and celery down until the meat falls off the bones and to make the soup stock. Take the chicken out and pull off all the meat, then add it back to the stock. Add the onions, carrots and paprika and bring to a boil again. Spoon drop the dumplings into the soup. They will remain on top of the pot so after about ten minutes turn them over.

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt (optional)
1 tablespoon parsley (optional)
cold water - enough to mix all the ingredients until it becomes a pasty type mixture (like you were making bread dough so it shouldn't be soupy) that you can drop into the soup with a spoon
