Review of Fifty Shades of Grey

Well, I went to see it this weekend. I haven't read any of the books but with all the hype around it I just had to see the movie. I was pleasantly surprised because it was really very good! Even the music was excellent. I don't know how they got away with rating it an R though because the sex scenes were very explicit. In fact there were at least two scenes that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. I mean complete nakedness, and everything is right out there. Another pleasant surprise was the humor in it, mostly on Anastasia's part. I thought the two main actors did a great job.

On that note I hope Dakota Johnson's parents NEVER see this movie. Maybe other family members, her friends, and anyone else who knows her. Not so much for the nudity but because the sex scenes seemed so real, and a couple of them seemed a little violent.

We, my daughter and niece, went to the two o'clock showing so the theater was pretty empty. Most of the people were woman and just a handful of men. We got a little chuckle when a group of elderly women came in together as if they'd been dropped off by a bus. I swear they almost looked guilty!

The girls and I left the theater talking about how we can't wait to see the next installment.
