My Writing Process Blog Hop

My Writing Process

This particular blog hop is all about authors offering others a glimpse into their work, their work schedules, and perhaps their innermost thoughts. Some of us are quite opposite from our real life personas.

So who subjected you to this arduous journey through the innermost working of my mind? The very talented Valerie Clarizio. You don’t have to love romance and mystery to read her books, you just need to love a damn good story.

Q. What am I working on?

I am currently working on my first series, Serve and Submit. Five short, erotic stories are slated for this series, Pulled Over, On Fire, Under Cover, Party Time, and Lovers. Each 6000-7000 word story is stand alone, and includes a hero who serves the public in some way. Pulled Over is already out and available on Smashwords, and countless other venues. On Fire will be released in April.

Q. How does my work differ from others of its genre?

I've been told over and over that for writing short stories I do a great job of adding enough back ground information to make the plot satisfying. I believe it's important for character building and allows the reader to really get to know and understand them, and what makes them tick. Stories should pull on your emotions.

Q. Why do I write what I do?
Writing is a hobby for me that I've been doing since the age of ten. Over the years I realized that I used it as therapy, a way of expressing myself on paper what I couldn't in real life. It's a way of controlling what's going on by creating a world I invented.

Q. How does your writing process work?

First I get a tiny idea. It can come from a dream, something I see on TV, or read. It can come from nowhere, and everywhere. Once that seed is planted, it blossoms into a story, or first draft. After I write those golden words, The End, I go back through and add the meat until it's plump and juicy. Finally, after many revisions, editing, and beta reading it graduates on release day. It's hard work, frustrating when the words won't come to me, and frightening because the end product will go out into the world and either be accepted or rejected by the readers, people of power.

Q. Who will we meet next week?

Several authors beginning with Madison Sevier. She writes romance like Anything you Want, and Natural Lust, and I wonder what Wicked by Nature is about. Her covers are fabulous, too! She writes for Secret Cravings Publishing.

Author Marie Dunn. She has two books out and is working on a third. A Thousand Awkward Moments, and Bradford Place both have a 5-STAR rating on Amazon!

Author Ju Ephraime. No need to guess what genre she writes when you see her delicious covers. Temptation to Sin and A Wonderful Piece of Dark Mahogany are just two of her steamy romance novels.

I know what you mean, Tory, it is kind of scary when you send a story out to the world...

Thanks for sharing your writing process with us.
