The nicest thing happened to me today. I ran down to the grocery store to do a little shopping. When I was done I had to leave the cart on the sidewalk because I parked my car in an area where I couldn't bring it up close to my trunk. In the old days, before the cane, I could have grabbed all the bags and made one trip. But with my cane and purse I was only able to get half the bags. I made the trip to my car and when I turned to go back to the cart to get the rest a man and his young daughter were standing there with the rest of my bags. It made me feel so good!

I make a habit of paying attention to the people around me. When I see someone needs help I usually offer. It's a small thing to open the door for someone. And the little things can often brighten up the day for someone.

What good example this man is setting for his daughter.

You know what the funny thing is Carin? I actually think it was his daughter's idea to help me. Because I heard him say to her as they were walking away, that was a nice thing to do by helping out.

Doesn't happen often Cherie but when it does it feels good.
