You know, I only have two more days to work this week and then I get a five-day vacation through Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday, probably due to it being the first family gathering of the year. Last year I planned a big dinner at my house and if you'll recall, we (my daughter, her hubby and me) ended up at the hospital emergency because my granddaughter had a little seizure. Hubby remained behind with the rest of the family and friends we'd invited. Turned out Alivia was running an 104 temperature and the doctor told us some kids have seizures with high tempts. Scared us all to death!
Hopefully we won't have a repeat of last year. By the time we returned home dinner had been eaten and our family and guests had left. We warmed things up and ate our dinner.
This year we're having dinner at my daughter's. She and hubby have to work the day after Thanksgiving so instead of them being on the road most of the holiday traveling back and forth from their home to mine (2 hours away) it just made sense. And this way I can keep Alivia on Friday because her day care is closed.
I'm so looking forward to it. My favorite times are when the family get together and sit around reminiscing while we eat good food. If I don't get a chance to blog the rest of the week know that I wish everyone a great Thanksgiving with your family and friends!
